1963, the last days of May... The movie tells the extraordinary journey of four former soldiers purged from the army over the course of one night. Lieutenant Şinasi, Major Kemal, Major Rıfat and Colonel Reha are planning to announce the Istanbul leg of the military coup that will start in Ankara on the same night, and to make a similar announcement on the Istanbul Radio to the coup declaration that will be made on the radios in Ankara. They are confident that with a sufficiently powerful and effective announcement, the coup will succeed and they will have the support of the public behind them. But nothing will go as they expected. Believing that everything can be solved by planning and military force, these four soldiers felt themselves in a position to make decisions on behalf of others. But it is the invisible force of civilian life that defeats them.
